We would like to thank everyone who has donated their lose change at our stores. Your efforts are making an incredible difference in our communities. To date, you have helped raise over $6,300 for local food banks.

Earlier this month Cubby’s President DeLone Wilson visited Feeding South Dakota and the Food Bank for the Heartland. He presented a $2,325 check to Feeding South Dakota, and $4,064 to the Food Bank for the Heartland.

The Foodbank for the Heartland shared these thoughts on their website:

Small businesses across the United States are experiencing the effects of an unexpected coin shortage due to less foot traffic and customers not wanting to handle cash or loose change. In recognition of the coin shortage, Cubby’s Convenience Stores has partnered with Food Bank for the Heartland and Feeding South Dakota to collect and donate loose change to feed families in need. Any customer visiting a Cubby’s Convenience Store in Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota can donate change or round up to the nearest dollar on their transaction.

During such a time of uncertainty, it is rewarding to know that pennies can make a difference to small businesses and banks in your community. Next time you say, “keep the change,” it will have a whole new meaning for families throughout the Midwest who benefit from the services of Feeding South Dakota and Food Bank for the Heartland.

Thanks to everyone who participated in our coin drive!
