Cubby’s Convenience Stores is proud to have recently joined forces with Cenex and our customer Super Store in Bellevue to raise funds for the Bellevue Police Department K-9 Unit.
Chuck Spaulding, co-owner of Super Store located at 36th & Chandler in Bellevue, was a long-time supporter of law enforcement. After learning that a service dog in the department will be retiring soon, he initiated an effort to raise funds for the department to acquire a new service dog.
Unfortunately, Chuck Spaulding suddenly passed away. The community continued to support the Bellevue Police Department K-9 Department after Chuck’s death and we are grateful for the dedication of Super Store employees and everyone in the community who supported this effort.
In a joint effort, Cubby’s Convenience Stores Inc., Cenex and Super Store donated 5-cents per gallon of gas during the month of December.
A check for $4,165.65 was presented to the Bellevue Police Department K-9 Unit on Thursday, January 30th. This donation will help the department welcome a new K-9. A new dog for the K-9 Unit can cost $10-12 thousand dollars.
